How do I find my bone marrow registry?

We'll route you to the right national registry for your country in one click. Joining is free, most registries take about 5 minutes online, and signing up is just a simple cheek swab — no needles. The swab kit ships to you at no cost. Typical age range is 18–40; exact rules vary by registry.

How do I join the bone marrow registry?

  1. Click the registry button on this page.
  2. We auto-detect your country and send you to the right national registry.
  3. You order a free cheek swab kit (or pick one up at an in-person drive).
  4. You complete a brief online health-history form.
  5. You return the swab; the registry tests your HLA type and adds your profile to the international donor pool.

What happens after I register?

Most registry members are never called to donate. You stay on the registry for years; the registry only contacts you if a patient — often someone fighting a blood cancer such as leukemia — matches your HLA type.

If you're matched, the registry contacts you (not the patient directly). You go through additional health screening and renewed consent before any actual donation.

You can decline at any point — registration is not a binding commitment. You can also withdraw from the registry at any time.

Why register through Jada Bascom Foundation?

We route you to the correct national registry for your country automatically. JBF is not itself a registry — we are a small foundation that supports every major bone marrow registry worldwide. Choosing JBF as your starting point doesn't change which registry you join; it just gets you to the right one faster.

Every signup that originates from a JBF link lets us measure the real-world impact of our awareness work. That measurement informs our outreach strategy and supports the foundation's mission. Your registration is free either way; routing through JBF costs you nothing and helps us.
