The FSM Department of Health and Social Affairs coordinates nationally, while four state Departments of Health deliver care, according to the Federated States of Micronesia’s 2021 Title V report to the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration. 8

In 1997 the FSM national government’s health insurance plan accredited St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Philippine Heart Center in Manila, and the Honolulu Medical Group and Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, for patients it refers off-island, the FSM Information Service said. 9

MiCare, the health insurance program of the Federated States of Micronesia, is mandatory for national government employees and optional for state employees and private businesses, and each state runs one main public hospital, the FSM told the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration in 2023. 7
