Route update · September 27
The walk now goes through Tsawwassen, and is back on schedule in Victoria
Jeana had a cold, so the Vancouver stops were canceled and the walk turned toward Tsawwassen. She still went to Vancouver on September 25, for a Canadian Blood Services stem cell drive at the University of British Columbia that CTV Vancouver and CityNews Vancouver covered. She reached Tsawwassen on Sunday, September 27, and held two Bone Marrow Awareness Days there, in the traditional territory of the Tsawwassen First Nation. She took the ferry to Swartz Bay on Wednesday, September 30, and is walking through Sidney, Saanichton and Royal Oak to Victoria, where she is due on Sunday, October 4. From Victoria the walk is back on its original schedule to Olympia on October 21.
Bone Marrow Awareness Day — Sidney
The sixth planned Awareness Day remains in Sidney. No route miles are scheduled before the next stage south along the Saanich Peninsula to Saanichton.
Bone Marrow Awareness Day — Victoria
The seventh planned Awareness Day remains in Victoria before the return crossing. The walking miles pause, with time in the itinerary to learn what joining a registry may involve.
Bone Marrow Awareness Day — Quilcene
The eighth planned Awareness Day remains in Quilcene. No route miles are scheduled between the Discovery Bay approach and the next stage toward Brinnon.
Bone Marrow Awareness Day — Hood Canal
The ninth planned Awareness Day remains on Hood Canal. No route miles are scheduled before the final chapter through Shelton to Olympia.
Finish — Bone Marrow Awareness Day, Olympia
Day 45 is the tenth planned Awareness Day and the end of the campaign itinerary. No route miles are scheduled after the Capitol walking stage.
