El Nuevo Diario reported in Oct 2020 that Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud was the only center in the Dominican Republic with a bone marrow transplant program, and had done 45 marrow transplants among the 399 transplants of its first 13 years. 11

On Dec 2, 2025, INCORT introduced national procedures for donor and own-cell stem cell transplants in the Dominican Republic, for children and adults, with the Ministry of Public Health, SNS, SISALRIL and DAMAC. 4
