As of , Macao Blood Transfusion Centre is the organization we’ve found for Macao, but we haven’t checked its sign-up page for people who live here, so we don’t link to one yet. Under a 2012-13 agreement between Hong Kong’s Hospital Authority and Macao’s Health Bureau, people in Macao register at the Macao Blood Transfusion Centre, and the Hong Kong Bone Marrow Donor Registry processes and stores their records. 6

A bone marrow donor registry is also called a stem cell or blood stem cell donor registry.
Why don’t you link to a registry in Macao yet?
Macao’s Health Bureau last said, in a June 2023 release, that people can register as marrow or blood stem cell donors at the Blood Transfusion Centre; its six releases from June 2024 to June 2026 don’t mention it, and the center’s website refused access on Oct 11 and Oct 15, 2026, so we’re checking before we link to it. 8 11 12

We haven’t listed a documented search for a registry in Macao yet. That doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
Macao residents can sign up at Macao’s blood center for Hong Kong’s marrow registry. 6 8
On Oct 11, 2026, a search of Macao government news from 2024 to 2026 for World Blood Donor Day turned up releases that never mentioned marrow donor registration, and on Oct 15, 2026 we read all six, including two from June 2026, with the same result. 10 11 12
On Oct 11, 2026, nothing on the Hong Kong Bone Marrow Donor Registry’s current website mentioned Macao, including its July 2026 registration leaflet. 2 4
On Oct 11, 2026, the World Marrow Donor Association’s lists had no organization based in Macao; donors who register in Macao are stored by Hong Kong’s registry. 6 13
We couldn’t open the website of Health Bureau (Serviços de Saúde), Macao SAR when we tried on Oct 11, 2026. That tells us nothing about whether it offers a way to join.

On World Blood Donor Day in June 2022, Macao’s Health Bureau said people who couldn’t give blood at the Blood Transfusion Centre could register as bone marrow donors instead. 7
Macao and the world’s donor search
Macau Daily Times reported in November 2015 that 703 Macao residents had registered at the Blood Transfusion Center since December 2014 to be added to Hong Kong’s donor data bank, 667 of them fully qualified. 16
