Hood Canal

    Brinnon

    Jefferson County, Washington

    The planned 12.6-mile stage reaches Brinnon on Hood Canal. The Dosewallips brings sediment from the Olympics into a braided estuary at the water’s edge.

    Triton Cove State Park

    US Highway 101, Brinnon, Washington

    The planned 7.1-mile stage reaches Triton Cove State Park. Its 555 feet of shoreline form a small public access point along Hood Canal.

    Potlatch State Park, US Highway 101, Mason County, Washington

    Day 39 is planned as 9.8 walking miles to the Potlatch area. The Great Bend marks a change in the route’s relationship with Hood Canal before the approach to Shelton.

    Bone Marrow Awareness Day — Hood Canal

    US Highway 101, Hood Canal, Mason County, Washington

    The ninth planned Awareness Day remains on Hood Canal. No route miles are scheduled before the final chapter through Shelton to Olympia.
