Day 15: 7.5 planned walking miles to Blaine. Day 16 is the planned Peace Arch crossing; no public appearance at the monument is announced.
Route overview, not turn-by-turn directions.

The planned 7.5-mile leg reaches Blaine before the Peace Arch crossing. Fishing, logging and the international boundary are part of the city’s own account of its history.
Blaine stands on Drayton Harbor at the British Columbia border. The city calls itself the Peace Arch City and describes a history shaped by fishing and logging. It is the final Washington destination in the northbound section, with the crossing into Surrey planned for Day 16.
The Peace Arch was dedicated in 1921. The monument rises 67 feet at the international boundary, a conspicuous landmark shared by the two sides. Its height and position make it a clear landmark at the turn from Washington to British Columbia.
The itinerary assigns 7.5 planned walking miles to Blaine, followed by the 8.6-mile cross-border stage to Elgin. The campaign’s family story reaches across a different border: Jada’s donor was in Germany, while her family was in Washington. The walk carries that story north toward its Canadian stages.
Choose where you live
Continue to the official registry that serves you. It decides eligibility, handles registration and contacts you if you may match a patient.
United States — NMDP
NMDP accepts new registry members who are 18 to 35, live in the US, its territories or freely associated states, can meet NMDP’s health guidelines, and are not already registered through another US organization. Joining happens at home: you answer a few questions on NMDP’s site, they mail you a free cheek-swab kit, and you swab and send it back. Once you are a member you stay listed until you are 61 unless you ask to be removed — 61 is when NMDP takes you off, not an age at which you can join. NMDP makes the final eligibility decision.
