The planned 10.8-mile stage reaches Tsawwassen. The ferry terminal brings the mainland chapter to its water crossing, scheduled for the following day.
Tsawwassen is one of Delta’s three communities, near Boundary Bay, the United States border and the Strait of Georgia. The city’s account describes coastal parks, residential areas and a central shopping corridor. Its position gives this part of the route a different relationship with the water from Tilbury’s industrial riverfront.
The ferry terminal is at the southwest end of Highway 17 in Delta. BC Ferries lists service from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, along with other destinations. The operator’s boarding guidance specifically includes foot passengers on the Swartz Bay route, which is the service in the planned Day 25 itinerary.
The walking plan assigns 10.8 miles to Day 24 and a separate 8.5 land miles to the ferry day. Keeping those days distinct makes the crossing easier to follow: first the approach through Tsawwassen, then walking and sailing on the way to Sidney.
