Day 20, September 26: 8.2 miles walked along Highway 10 into Delta, ending on Ladner Trunk Road, where she started the next morning.
Route overview, not turn-by-turn directions.

On September 26 Jeana walked 8.2 miles along Highway 10 into Delta and tucked her tent into an empty lot on Ladner Trunk Road. People who had seen her on the TV news honked, waved and stopped to talk.
She thought she might rest after the rain at UBC, but it was a good walking day, and rain was coming, so she walked. The McDonald’s down the street from her motel gave her breakfast, and she caught up on Foundation business before setting out along Highway 10.
People who had seen her on CTV and CityNews the night before honked, waved and stopped to talk. In the evening she found an empty lot on Ladner Trunk Road where she could tuck her tent in, and a Tim Hortons across the road gave her a cheese sandwich and a cup of coffee for her dinner.
From the road
Along Highway 10, where people knew her from the news
She thought she might take the day off to rest after being in the rain the day before. But it was a good walking day, and rain was coming in the next couple of days, so she thought she had better take advantage of the sun while it lasted.
The McDonald’s down the street from the Motel 6, on her way to the route, generously provided her breakfast. She had time that morning to take care of quite a bit of Jada Bascom Foundation business, and it was good to catch up.
On the walk she ran into a lot of people who honked, waved from their cars, or stopped to talk to her after recognising her from the TV news. That made her happy, knowing that many people saw the news clip about the importance of joining the Canadian Blood Services registry. One woman, Pram, ran across the street to greet her and offered her a protein bar, which was really good, because she had no food in her pack. People kept honking as they went by on British Columbia Highway 10.
She found a place on an empty lot where she thought she could tuck her tent in for the night. At a Tim Hortons they fed her a delicious cheese sandwich and a cup of coffee for her dinner, and she sat catching up on her new route again and looking at how things might unfold. Carrying the pack was much better that day. That night she slept in her tent.
My muscles are stronger, they’re not weakened by the flu anymore, well, a little bit, but pretty good.

Where in Canada?
Canada outside Québec — Canadian Blood Services
The Canadian Blood Services Stem Cell Registry asks for people aged 17 to 35 in good general health. You answer eligibility questions online, complete a profile and sign a consent form; a cheek-swab kit arrives in the mail within one to three weeks for you to swab and return. If you live in Québec, you register with Héma-Québec instead. Canadian Blood Services makes the final eligibility decision.
