Route overview, not turn-by-turn directions.

Day 23 is planned as 9.8 miles to Tilbury, Delta. Its industrial roads and railway connections are part of the Fraser River’s working landscape.
Tilbury appears in Delta’s Official Community Plan as an industrial area with a network of roads and rail connections along the Fraser River. The plan places it beside Burns Bog and shows the relationship between freight routes, industrial land and the surrounding landscape. It is a part of the region where goods are made, stored and moved.
That industrial setting sits within a municipality whose history also includes fishing and farming. Delta’s city account identifies agriculture as a major continuing land use. The walk passes through these different parts of the same municipality on separate days, from North Delta to Tilbury and then toward Tsawwassen.
The planned stage from Connaught Heights is 9.8 miles. The next day continues toward Tsawwassen and the ferry. That progression links an industrial riverfront with the municipality’s coast, adding another change of setting to the loop.
